I like to edge hard enough to almost get my shoulders touching the water just as the kite hits its apex and I release.

Its good practice to keep both hands near the centre of the bar and to take your back hand off the bar once you are airborne so that you get the kite flying back in the direction you are travelling.

I learned the forward roll first, then moved on to the back roll.

To start with, just pop a small jump and initiate the forward roll by looking back over your board. A common mistake is to keep too much pressure on the bar as you progress though the rotation which leads to the kite power diving. If you keep both hand in the center of the bar, then let go of the back hand when you ar airborne this should fix that problem.

Front Loop (2)

Pull the kite not as hard back as on a high jump, maximum 12 o'clock in strong winds or 1 or 11 o'clock in lighter winds.
